about us
|
The Pasture is a family farm, owned and operated by husband-wife team, Wayne and Becca Baumbach. Since purchasing their farmstead in 2018, the Baumbachs have removed thousands of pounds of debris, enhanced the soil with organic compost, and are restoring the property with native grasses, wildflowers, fruit trees, wildlife, and the rotational grazing of livestock.
At The Pasture, we raise myotonic (fainting) goats, boer goats, turkeys, and chickens, along with a pair of cute preschoolers and two dogs. We are Myotonic Goat Registry breeders of purebred myotonic (fainting) goats, a unique breed with gentle demeanors and fun personalities. Our goat kids have found homes across North Dakota and Minnesota as well-loved farm pets, 4-H projects, and breeding stock. We offer a limited number of pasture-raised turkeys and chickens to local customers each year through pre-order. The Pasture maintains our wildflower meadows, beehives, and honey processing operation on our property. With support from our community, we hope to increase our capacity and production in the years to come. |
Certified Wildlife Habitat
|
The Pasture has been recognized as a Certified Wildlife Habitat® by the National Wildlife Federation.
To earn this certification, we demonstrated that our farm provides essential elements for wildlife: food, water, cover, and a safe place to raise their young. Our native wildflower meadows, pollinator-friendly plants, sustainable practices, and overall habitat stewardship helped us meet these standards. At The Pasture, we believe farming and conservation go hand in hand. This certification is one more step toward our mission to create a thriving, biodiverse environment for animals and people alike. |
